Suzanne Kim, CFA

Founder/Managing Partner

Suzanne Kim, CFA is a capital markets and investor relations professional with more than 20 years of experience spanning institutional finance, private equity, real assets, infrastructure, and clean energy. Her expertise spans capital raising, investor relations, financial modeling, and the structuring of innovative financing that aligns institutional investors' fiduciary responsibilities with meaningful environmental and social outcomes. She brings Wall Street rigor, systems thinking, and cross-disciplinary training in public policy, urban planning, and architecture to complex financing structures in service of mission-directed capital — maintaining an extensive network across institutional, impact, and public capital markets.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Kim served as Director of Real Estate Development at Northern California Land Trust, where she raised $20M+ in financing, led project finance for a $60M+ zero net energy development, and helped pioneer the design of an innovative Fannie Mae Community Land Trust takeout structure. Before NCLT, she founded Motivate Capital, a consulting firm specializing in capital markets processes and transaction support for real assets, infrastructure, and clean energy projects.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Kim held roles at New Forests, Greenleaf Power, Credit Suisse — where she received the firm's highest institutional investor rating — and Kensington Investment Group. Before finance, she worked at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and served as a staff member to US Senators Dianne Feinstein and Bill Bradley.

Ms. Kim serves on the boards of the Center for Creative Land Recycling (Finance Committee), the State of California Joint Institute for Wood Products Innovation Advisory Council, and the Town of Tiburon Design Review Board. Past board service includes the US EPA Environmental Finance Advisory Board, the San Francisco Treasure Island Citizens' Advisory Board, the San Francisco League of Conservation Voters, and the Department of Energy C-PACE Working Group.

She is a CFA® charterholder, holds an FSA credential, and formerly held FINRA Series 7, 63, and 87 licenses. She received her AB from Dartmouth College, a Dual Master in Public Policy and Urban Planning from Harvard Kennedy School, and a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
